Golf Cart Battery Documents: What to Request Before a Sample Order

Before approving a golf cart battery sample, request a model-specific document set that connects the proposed pack, charger and vehicle requirements. Images are useful for understanding packaging. A datasheet, drawing, operating manual and applicable test documentation answer different questions and should not be treated as interchangeable evidence.

Start with identification and revision control

Ask each document to identify the offered model, configuration and revision. Check that the quotation, drawing and datasheet describe the same item. If an accessory or interface changes, ask which documents also need updating. Keep the approved set with the purchase record so that a later delivery can be compared with the agreed sample.

Read the electrical specification in context

Look for clearly defined nominal voltage, rated capacity and nominal energy. Request the operating limits and relevant conditions for the proposed application. Where continuous and peak current values are provided, ask for their definitions, permitted duration and conditions. Do not infer these values from a model code or apply a figure from a similar-looking battery.

Use a controlled drawing to assess fit

A product photograph cannot establish compartment clearance. Request the dimensions, mass, mounting arrangement and interface positions for the offered configuration. Include clearance for connections and access for servicing. Have the vehicle integrator review the drawing against the actual cart, including existing modifications. A drawing review supports the decision but does not replace an agreed installation assessment.

Separate user guidance from installation instructions

The operating manual should help the user identify the product, understand permitted use and know how to obtain support. Installation and commissioning information should be supplied for the responsible integration team. Request the approved charger details and any relevant communication requirements. Do not use a generic promotional video as an installation procedure.

Match evidence to the intended market

Ask which test reports or other documents apply to the exact configuration, shipment and destination. Check report identifiers and product scope with the responsible supplier or specialist. A certification logo on an image does not establish that your offered model is covered. Keep unanswered compliance questions open until the applicable evidence is reviewed.

Make the sample handover easy to audit

- Approved quotation and model identification

- Current datasheet and dimension drawing

- Charger and accessory identification

- Operating, installation and service documentation as applicable

- Applicable reports and written warranty terms

- Sample inspection and acceptance record

Frequently asked questions

Can a video replace the manual?

No. A video can demonstrate a feature or help identify an interface, but the controlled written instructions remain necessary. Ask which product revision the video shows.

What if a download is not available on the website?

Request it against the specific model. An unavailable file should be described as pending or available on request, not presented as a working download or an approved specification.

What does GOTION JTM need for the initial review?

Send the cart model, charger details, compartment dimensions, intended use and destination. The golf collection includes labelled design options; request confirmation of the applicable product and document set before approving a sample.
